English Translation

Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from 'Amr ibn Murrah, from Abu al-Bakhtari al-Ta'i who said: I asked Ibn 'Abbas رضي الله عنهما about selling date-palms. He said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited selling date-palms until they are eaten or drunk from. A man said: What does 'drunk from' mean? He said: Until they become ripe enough to be harvested.
