حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ مَطَرٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ صَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ فَسَلَّمَ فِي رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَنَهَضَ لِيَسْتَلِمَ الْحَجَرَ فَس
َبَّحَ الْقَوْمُ فَقَالَ مَا شَأْنُكُمْ قَالَ فَصَلَّى مَا بَقِيَ وَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ قَالَ فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فَقَالَ مَا أَمَاطَ عَنْ سُنَّةِ نَبِيِّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) — via 'Ata' — that Ibn al-Zubayr prayed Maghrib and gave the salam after two rak'ahs [by mistake], then rose to touch the [Black] Stone. The people said 'Subhanallah!' He said: 'What is wrong with you?' He then completed [the remaining rak'ah] and performed two prostrations [of forgetfulness]. When this was mentioned to Ibn 'Abbas, he said: 'He has not deviated from the Sunnah of his Prophet (ﷺ).'
