حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ رَأَى ابْنُ ع
َبَّاسٍ رَجُلًا سَاجِدًا قَدْ ابْتَسَطَ ذِرَاعَيْهِ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ هَكَذَا يَرْبِضُ الْكَلْبُ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا سَجَدَ رَأَيْتُ بَيَاضَ إِبْطَيْهِ

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) — via Shu'bah — that Ibn 'Abbas saw a man prostrating [in prayer] with his forearms spread flat [on the ground]. Ibn 'Abbas said: 'This is how a dog rests! I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ — when he prostrated, the whiteness of his armpits was visible [because he held his arms away from his sides].'
