Hadith #545
Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ عِنْدَ الْكَرْبِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الْحَلِيمُ الْكَرِيمُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ رَبُّ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ
English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) — via Abu al-'Aliyah — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say in times of distress: 'La ilaha illallahu al-'Aliyyu al-'Azim, la ilaha illallahu al-Halimu al-Karim, la ilaha illallahu Rabbu al-'arshi al-'azim, la ilaha illallahu Rabbu al-samawati wa al-ardi Rabbu al-'arshi al-'azim [There is no god but Allah, the Most High, the Magnificent. There is no god but Allah, the Forbearing, the Generous. There is no god but Allah, the Lord of the Magnificent Throne. There is no god but Allah, the Lord of the heavens and the earth, the Lord of the Magnificent Throne].'
