English Translation
'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar informed us, from Jabir, from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'No harm shall be inflicted nor reciprocated (la darara wa la dirar). A man has the right to place a wooden beam on his neighbor's wall.' And he said: 'What is the matter with me that I see you turning away from this? By Allah, I will certainly impose it upon you.' — This is a foundational hadith of Islamic law on harm prevention.
