English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Abu Mu'awiya, from al-A'mash, from 'Abdullah ibn Murra, from Masruq — that 'Abdullah said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The blood of a Muslim man who testifies that there is no god but Allah and that I am the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is not lawful except for one of three: the previously married adulterer, a life for a life [retaliation for murder], and the one who abandons his religion and separates from the community.'
