English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Yahya ibn Sa'id, from Shu'ba, from Sa'd ibn Ibrahim, from Abi 'Ubayda, from his father — that the Prophet ﷺ during the [sitting in] the two rak'ahs [between the prostrations] was [positioned] as if he were sitting on hot coals [al-radaf — i.e., sitting very briefly, eager to rise]. I asked: Until he stood? He said: Until he stood.
