English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Yahya, from Shu'ba, from Abu Ishaq, from Abi 'Ubayda — that 'Abdullah said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by me while I was praying and said: Ask and you will be given, O Ibn Umm 'Abd! Abu Bakr and 'Umar hurried [toward him to find out what he meant]. 'Umar said: Abu Bakr never raced me to anything except that he got there before me. They asked [Ibn Mas'ud] about what [the Prophet ﷺ] had said. He said: [The following is] among the supplications I hardly ever leave off: O Allah, I ask You for a bliss that does not perish, the delight of the eyes that does not run dry, and the companionship of the Prophet ﷺ Muhammad (ﷺ) in the highest level of Paradise, the Garden of Eternity.'
