English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Yahya, from Shu'ba, from Abu Ishaq, from 'Amr ibn Maymun — that 'Abdullah said: 'We were with the Prophet ﷺ in a tent, about forty of us. He said: Are you pleased to be a quarter of the people of Paradise? We said: Yes. He said: Are you pleased to be a third of the people of Paradise? We said: Yes. He said: By the One in Whose Hand my soul is, I hope you will be half of the people of Paradise. That is because Paradise will not be entered except by a Muslim soul, and you among the polytheists are like a white hair on the hide of a black bull — or a black hair on the hide of a red bull.'
