حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي
الْأَحْوَصِ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِذَا كَانَ ثُلُثُ اللَّيْلِ الْبَاقِي يَهْبِطُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا ثُمَّ تُفْتَحُ أَبْوَابُ السَّمَاءِ ثُمَّ يَبْسُطُ يَدَهُ فَيَقُولُ هَلْ مِنْ سَائِلٍ يُعْطَى سُؤْلَهُ فَلَا يَزَالُ كَذَلِكَ حَتَّى يَطْلُعَ الْفَجْرُ

English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Abd al-Samad, from 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Muslim, from Abu Ishaq al-Hamdani, from Abi al-Ahwas — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When the last third of the night remains, Allah (عز وجل) descends to the lowest heaven. Then the gates of heaven are opened, then He extends His hand and says: Is there anyone asking, who will be given what he asks? And He remains thus until Fajr rises.'
