English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Waki', from Sufyan, from Abi Ishaq, from Khumayr ibn Malik — that Khumayr said: ''Abdullah said: I took [directly] from the mouth of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ seventy surahs — while Zayd ibn Thabit still had a lock of hair [dhu'aba] in the primary school [al-kuttab] [i.e., was still a child].'
