English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Muhammad ibn Ja'far, from Shu'ba, from Mansur, from Abi Wa'il — that 'Abdullah narrated from the Prophet ﷺ that he said: 'A man keeps telling the truth and striving toward truth until he is recorded [with Allah] as a truthful one [siddiq]. And a man keeps lying and striving after lies until he is recorded [with Allah] as a great liar [kadhdhab].'
