حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ حَدّ
َثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ قَالَ أَتَيْتُ زِرَّ بْنَ حُبَيْشٍ وَعَلَيَّ دَرْبَانِ فَأُلْقِيَتْ عَلَيَّ مَحَبَّةٌ مِنْهُ وَعِنْدَهُ شَبَابٌ فَقَالُوا لِي سَلْهُ { فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَى } فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى جِبْرِيلَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام وَلَهُ سِتُّ مِائَةِ جَنَاحٍ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Hasan ibn Musa, from Zuhayr, from Abi Ishaq al-Shaybani — that [Abu Ishaq] said: 'I came to Zirr ibn Hubaysh and found him [wrapped in two garments]. A fondness for him fell upon me, and some young men present said to me: Ask him about [the verse] "He was at a distance of two bows' lengths or closer" [53:9]. I asked him about it, and he said: 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud narrated to us that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw Jibril (عليه السلام) with six hundred wings.'
