English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Abdallah ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Shayba, from Hafs ibn Ghiyath, from al-A'mash, from Abi Ishaq, from Abi al-Ahwas — that 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Indeed Islam began as a stranger, and it will return as a stranger just as it began. So blessed are the strangers [tuba lil-ghuraba']. It was said: Who are the strangers? He said: Those who have gone forth from [left] their tribes.'
