حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ يَحْيَى مِنْ أَهْلِ مَرْوٍ حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى عَنْ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِ
لَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَصَبْتُ مِنْ امْرَأَةٍ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا أَنِّي لَمْ أُجَامِعْهَا قَالَ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ { أَقِمْ الصَّلَاةَ طَرَفَيْ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِنْ اللَّيْلِ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ }

English Translation
Al-Hasan ibn Yahya from the people of Marw narrated to us, al-Fadl ibn Musa narrated to us, from Sufyan al-Thawri, from Simak, from Ibrahim, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Yazid, from 'Abdullah (ibn Mas'ud) رضي الله عنه who said: I came to the Prophet ﷺ and he was praying. I sat down and began my supplication. Then the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Ask and you shall be given.' Then 'Abdullah said: 'I said in my supplication: O Allah, I ask You for a faith that does not recede, and a blessing that does not cease, and the companionship of Your Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in the highest abode of the eternal Paradise.'
