English Translation

'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar informed us, from Abu Ishaq, from Abu al-Ahwas, from Ibn Mas'ud رضي الله عنه who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'If I were to take a khalil (intimate friend), I would have taken Abu Bakr as a khalil. But your companion is the khalil of Allah' — meaning himself ﷺ.
