Hadith #493
Arabic Text
قَالَ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ الْقِرَدَةُ وَالْخَنَازِيرُ هِيَ مِمَّا مُسِخَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يَمْسَخْ اللَّهُ قَوْمًا أَوْ يُهْلِكْ قَوْمًا فَيَجْعَلَ لَهُمْ نَسْلًا وَلَا عَاقِبَةً وَإِنَّ الْقِرَدَةَ وَالْخَنَازِيرَ قَدْ كَانَتْ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ
English Translation
He (the narrator) said: A man said: O Messenger of Allah, the apes and the pigs — are they from those who were transformed (in divine punishment)? the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Allah has never transformed a people — or destroyed a people — and then made for them offspring or progeny. Indeed, the apes and the pigs existed before that.'
