حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ أَنْبَأَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ قَالَ ذَكَرَ أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَ
لَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ عَلَيَّ الشَّيْطَانُ فَأَخَذْتُهُ فَخَنَقْتُهُ حَتَّى إِنِّي لَأَجِدُ بَرْدَ لِسَانِهِ فِي يَدَيَّ فَقَالَ أَوْجَعْتَنِي أَوْجَعْتَنِي

English Translation
Aswad ibn 'Amir narrated to us, Isra'il informed us, he said: Abu Ishaq mentioned from Abu 'Ubaydah, from 'Abdullah who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'My Lord عز وجل greeted me on the night of Isra' (the Night Journey), and He said: O Muhammad, do you know about what the exalted assembly (al-mala' al-a'la, the angels) dispute? I said: No, O Lord. He placed His Hand between my shoulders until I felt the coolness of His Fingers on my chest, and everything was made clear to me and I knew.'
