حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ قَالَ حَد

َّثَنِي عَوْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ إِذَا حُدِّثْتُمْ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدِيثًا فَظُنُّوا بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الَّذِي هُوَ أَهْيَاهُ وَأَهْدَاهُ وَأَتْقَاهُ

English Translation

Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Ibn 'Ajlan who said: 'Awn ibn 'Abdullah narrated to me, he said: 'Abdullah said: When you are told a hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, think the best, the most guided, and the most pious of it (i.e., interpret the Prophet ﷺ's words in the most beautiful, righteous, and God-conscious manner possible).
