English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Sulayman ibn Dawud, from Shu'ba, from Mansur, from Abi Wa'il — that 'Abdullah narrated from the Prophet ﷺ that he said: 'How wrong it is for one of you to say: I forgot such-and-such a verse. Rather, he was caused to forget [nussiya]. Keep reviewing the Quran, for by the One in Whose Hand my soul is, it slips away from the hearts of men more readily than a camel slips from its hobble.'
