English Translation

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) — via al-Zuhri, from Abu Salamah — that Ibn 'Abbas used to relate that Abu Bakr uncovered the face of the Prophet ﷺ after his death — for he was covered with a brocade cloth [burd hibara]. He looked at the face of the Prophet ﷺ, then leaned over him and kissed him.
