English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Yahya ibn Adam, from 'Abdallah ibn Idris (who dictated it from his book), from 'Asim ibn Kulayb, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Aswad, from 'Alqama — that 'Abdullah said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught us the prayer: he said the takbir and raised his hands, then bowed and performed tatbiq [pressing the palms together between the knees] and placed his hands between his knees.' When Sa'd heard of this, he said: 'My brother has spoken truly — we used to do that, then we were commanded to do this' — and he gripped his knees. ['Asim ibn Kulayb said: he narrated it to me in this way.]
