English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Yahya ibn Adam and Husayn ibn Muhammad, from Isra'il, from Abi Ishaq, from Abi al-Ahwas and Abi 'Ubayda — that 'Abdullah said: 'I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: Which deeds are most virtuous? He said: Prayer at its proper time, honoring one's parents, and jihad in the way of Allah. And if I had asked him for more, he would have given me more.' Husayn says: 'I asked him for more.'
