English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Yahya ibn Adam and Abu Ahmad, from Isra'il, from Abi Ishaq, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Aswad, from his father and 'Alqama — that 'Abdullah said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say the takbir at every bowing, prostration, rising, and descending — and [so did] Abu Bakr and 'Umar (رضي الله عنهما). And they gave the salam to their right and their left: Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah.'
