English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Ishaq ibn 'Isa and Hasan ibn Musa, from Hammad ibn Salama, from 'Asim ibn Bahdala, from Zirr ibn Hubaysh — that 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud said: 'At [the battle of] Badr, every three of us shared one camel. The riding companions [zamils] of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ were 'Ali and Abu Lubaba. When it was the Prophet ﷺ's (ﷺ) turn to walk, they would say to him: Ride, O Messenger of Allah, and we will walk for you. But he would say: You are no stronger than I for walking, and I am no less in need of the reward than you.' — [A second chain] via 'Affan, from Hammad ibn Salama, from 'Asim ibn Bahdala — the same account with the same chain.
