English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) — via Ibn Numayr, from Malik ibn Mighwal, from al-Zubayr ibn 'Adiyy, from Talha, from Murra — that 'Abdullah said: 'When the Prophet ﷺ was taken on the Night Journey, he was brought to Sidrat al-Muntaha [the Lote-Tree of the Utmost Boundary], which is in the sixth heaven. To it ascends everything that rises from the earth — and [the narrator] said at another time: everything that is taken up from the earth — and it is received there; and to it descends everything that comes down from above, and it is received there. 'When the Lote-Tree was covered by what covered it' [53:16] — he said: [it was covered by] golden butterflies [faraash min dhahab]. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was then given three things: the five prayers, the closing verses of Surah al-Baqara, and [the good news] that those of his ummah who do not associate partners with Allah (عز وجل) would be forgiven of al-muqhimat [the deadly grave sins].'
