حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ عَنْ فُرَاتٍ قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ عَنْ
زِيَادِ بْنِ الْجَرَّاحِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَعْقِلٍ قَالَ كَانَ أَبِي عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ فَسَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ النَّدَمُ تَوْبَةٌ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Kathir ibn Hisham, from Furat — [Furat] said: I recited [the hadith] to 'Abd al-Karim, from Ziyad ibn al-Jarrah, from 'Abdullah ibn Ma'qil — he said: 'My father was with 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud and heard him say: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: Remorse is repentance.'
