English Translation
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنهما) — via Sufyan ibn Sa'id, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Abis — that he heard Ibn 'Abbas being asked: 'Did you attend the Eid prayer with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?' He said: 'Yes. Had it not been for my close kinship with him, I would not have attended it due to my young age.' [the Prophet ﷺ] prayed two rak'ahs, then gave the sermon, then went to the marker [al-'alam] near the house of Kathir ibn al-Salt. He admonished the women, reminded them, and commanded them to give charity. They reached toward their ears and necks [removing their jewelry] and gave it in charity. Ibn 'Abbas said: They handed it to Bilal.
