حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ وَحَجَّاجٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ وَيَزِيدُ أَخْبَرَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ كُنَّا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ قَالَ يَزِيدُ جَمَعَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَ
لَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَنَحْنُ أَرْبَعُونَ فَكُنْتُ فِي آخِرِ مَنْ أَتَاهُ قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ مَنْصُورُونَ وَمُصِيبُونَ وَمَفْتُوحٌ لَكُمْ فَمَنْ أَدْرَكَ ذَلِكَ فَلْيَتَّقِ اللَّهَ وَلْيَأْمُرْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَلْيَنْهَ عَنْ الْمُنْكَرِ وَمَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنْ النَّارِ قَالَ يَزِيدُ وَلْيَصِلْ رَحِمَهُ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Muhammad ibn Ja'far and Hajjaj, from Shu'ba; and Yazid, from al-Mas'udi, from Simak ibn Harb, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Abdillah — from the Prophet ﷺ. Hajjaj says: We were with the Prophet ﷺ when he said. Yazid says: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gathered us — we were forty — and I was among the last to come to him. He said: 'You will be given victory, you will succeed, and conquests will be opened for you. Whoever reaches that [time], let him fear Allah, command good, and forbid evil. And whoever intentionally lies against me, let him take his seat in the Fire.' Yazid adds: 'And let him maintain ties of kinship.'
