English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Muhammad ibn Ja'far and Hajjaj, both from Shu'ba, from Sa'd ibn Ibrahim, from Abi 'Ubayda — Hajjaj says in his narration: I heard Abu 'Ubayda, from his father 'Abdillah ibn Mas'ud — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to sit [for the tashahhud] between the first two rak'as as if he were seated on hot stones [al-radaf]. I asked Sa'd: 'Until he stands up?' He said: 'Until he stands up.' Hajjaj said: Shu'ba said: Sa'd was moving his lips with something, so I asked: 'Until he stands up?' He said: 'Until he stands up.'
