English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) — via Muhammad ibn Ja'far, from Shu'ba; and Hajjaj — who said: I heard 'Uqba ibn Wassaj, from Abi al-Ahwas, from 'Abdullah — from the Prophet ﷺ — that he said: 'The superiority of a man's prayer in congregation over his prayer alone is twenty-five degrees.' Hajjaj says: Shu'ba did not raise it as marfu' for me, though he raised it for others. He said: I hesitate to raise it because 'Abdullah rarely attributed [hadith] directly to the Prophet ﷺ.
