English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Muhammad ibn Ja'far, from Shu'ba — Rukayn narrated to me, from al-Qasim ibn Hassan, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Harmala — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to dislike ten things: applying yellow [dye] to the body; changing grey hair [to conceal it]; dragging one's lower garment [out of arrogance]; wearing a gold ring — or he said: a gold band; playing with dice [al-ki'ab]; displaying adornment in a place not appropriate for it; incantations [ruqya] except with the Mu'awwidhat [the protective surahs]; amulets [tama'im]; coitus interruptus [withdrawing to prevent conception]; and harming the [nursing] child without thereby making [the woman] unlawful [as a wet-nurse, i.e., nursing while pregnant without it reaching the prohibited minimum].
