حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا وَائِلٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ ق
َالَ أَنَا فَرَطُكُمْ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ وَلَيُرْفَعَنَّ لِي رِجَالٌ مِنْكُمْ ثُمَّ لَيُخْتَلَجُنَّ دُونِي فَأَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ أَصْحَابِي فَيُقَالُ لِي إِنَّكَ لَا تَدْرِي مَا أَحْدَثُوا بَعْدَكَ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) — via Muhammad ibn Ja'far, from Shu'ba, from Mughira — I heard Abu Wa'il narrate from 'Abdullah, from the Prophet ﷺ — that he said: 'I am your forerunner at the Hawd [the Cistern]. Certain men from among you will certainly be brought forward to me, then turned away from me. I will say: O Lord, [these are] my companions! But I will be told: You do not know what they introduced [into the religion] after you.'
