English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) — via Muhammad ibn Ja'far, from Shu'ba, from Mansur, from Abi Wa'il — from the Prophet ﷺ that he said: 'A man keeps telling the truth and striving for truthfulness until he is recorded as profoundly truthful [siddiq]. And a man keeps lying and striving in lying until he is recorded before Allah as a habitual liar.'
