English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi, from Sufyan, from Mansur and al-A'mash, from Abi Wa'il — from the Prophet ﷺ that he said: 'When you are three, two of them should not engage in private conversation to the exclusion of the one — for that will grieve him. And a woman should not press her body against [another] woman [in private], lest she describe her to her husband [in such detail] that it is as though he is looking at her.' — I think it was Mansur who added: 'Unless there is a garment between them [as a barrier].' — [Second chain] via Muhammad ibn Ja'far, from Shu'ba, from Sulayman — I heard Abu Wa'il narrate from 'Abdullah, from the Prophet ﷺ — he said: When you are three... and he mentioned its meaning.
