Chain of Narration (Isnad)
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ وَقُمْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ
Body (Matn)
عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ فَلَمْ يَزَلْ قَائِمًا حَتَّى هَمَمْتُ بِأَمْرِ سَوْءٍ قَالَ قُلْنَا مَا هَمَمْتَ قَالَ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ أَجْلِسَ وَأَدَعَهُ
English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Abd al-Rahman, from Sufyan, from al-A'mash, from Abi Wa'il — that he said: 'I prayed and stood with the Prophet ﷺ one night. He kept standing until I nearly did something bad.' They said: What did you nearly do? He said: 'I nearly sat down and left him [to pray alone].'
