حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا وَائِلٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ كَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى ا
لنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَحْكِي نَبِيًّا قَالَ كَانَ قَوْمُهُ يَضْرِبُونَهُ حَتَّى يُصْرَعَ قَالَ فَيَمْسَحُ جَبْهَتَهُ وَيَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِقَوْمِي إِنَّهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) — via Muhammad ibn Ja'far, from Shu'ba, from Sulayman — I heard Abu Wa'il narrate from 'Abdullah — that he said: 'It is as if I am looking at the Prophet ﷺ reenacting [the story of] a prophet whose people were striking him until he fell down. He was wiping his forehead and saying: O Allah, forgive my people — for they do not know.'
