Hadith #17

حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ لَيْثٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ كُنْتُ مَعَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَى جَمْرَةِ الْعَقَبَةِ فَقَالَ نَاوِلْنِي أَحْجَارًا قَالَ فَنَاوَلْتُهُ سَبْعَةَ أَحْجَارٍ فَقَالَ لِي خُذْ بِزِمَامِ النَّاقَةِ قَالَ ثُم
َّ عَادَ إِلَيْهَا فَرَمَى بِهَا مِنْ بَطْنِ الْوَادِي بِسَبْعِ حَصَيَاتٍ وَهُوَ رَاكِبٌ يُكَبِّرُ مَعَ كُلِّ حَصَاةٍ وَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ حَجًّا مَبْرُورًا وَذَنْبًا مَغْفُورًا ثُمَّ قَالَ هَاهُنَا كَانَ يَقُومُ الَّذِي أُنْزِلَتْ عَلَيْهِ سُورَةُ الْبَقَرَةِ
Isnad Chain
English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) — via Jarir, from Layth, from Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Yazid, from his father — that he said: 'I was with 'Abdullah when we reached Jamrat al-'Aqaba. He said: Hand me stones. I handed him seven stones. He said: Hold the camel's lead-rope. Then he went to the jamra and threw it from the bottom of the valley with seven pebbles while riding, saying the takbir with each pebble, and saying: O Allah, make this a righteous Hajj and forgive [our] sins. Then he said: Here was where the one upon whom Surah al-Baqara was revealed used to stand.'
