Arabic Text
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى أَبِي حَدَّثَكَ عَمْرُو بْنُ مُجَمِّعٍ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ الْهَجَرِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ
أَوَّلَ مَنْ سَيَّبَ السَّوَائِبَ وَعَبَدَ الْأَصْنَامَ أَبُو خُزَاعَةَ عَمْرُو بْنُ عَامِرٍ وَإِنِّي رَأَيْتُهُ يَجُرُّ أَمْعَاءَهُ فِي النَّارِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى أَبِي حَدَّثَكَ حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ الْهَجَرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ وَعَبَدَ الْأَصْنَامَ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Amr ibn Mujammi', from Ibrahim al-Hajari, from Abu al-Ahwas — from the Prophet ﷺ — that he said: 'Indeed the first to release animals [al-sawa'ib — animals dedicated as offerings to roam free] and worship idols was Abu Khuza'a, 'Amr ibn 'Amir. And I saw him dragging his intestines [in punishment] in the Fire.' — [Second chain] via Husayn ibn Muhammad, from Yazid ibn 'Ata', from Abu Ishaq al-Hajari, from Abu al-Ahwas, from 'Abdullah — from the Prophet ﷺ — the same, but without mentioning 'and worshipped idols.'
