English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via 'Amr ibn Mujammi', from Ibrahim al-Hajari, from Abu al-Ahwas — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The poor [miskeen] is not the wandering one who is turned away by one or two morsels, or one or two dates. I said: O Messenger of Allah, then who is the poor? He said: The one who does not ask people [for charity], does not find what suffices him, and no one notices his situation so as to give him charity.'
