حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّهَا سَتَكُونُ فِتَنٌ وَأُمُورٌ تُنْكِر
ُونَهَا قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَمَا تَأْمُرُنَا قَالَ تُؤَدُّونَ الْحَقَّ الَّذِي عَلَيْكُمْ وَتَسْأَلُونَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ الَّذِي لَكُمْ قَالَ مُؤَمَّلٌ وَجَدْتُ فِي مَوْضِعٍ آخَرَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُرَحْبِيلَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلَهُ

English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) — via Mu'ammal, from Sufyan, from al-A'mash, from Zayd ibn Wahb — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'There will be trials and affairs that you will find detestable.' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what do you command us [to do]?' He said: 'Fulfill the obligations upon you, and ask Allah (عز وجل) for that which is your due.' Mu'ammal [adds]: I found in another place [the chain]: from Sufyan, from al-A'mash, from Abi Wa'il, from 'Amr ibn Shura hill, from 'Abdullah, from the Prophet ﷺ — the same account.
