English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) — via Yazid ibn Harun, from Muhammad ibn Ishaq, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Aswad, from his father — that he said: 'I entered upon Ibn Mas'ud — I and my uncle — at midday. He called the iqama [for prayer]. We stood behind him. He took me by one hand and took my uncle by another hand, then moved us forward until he placed each of us on one side [of him]. He then said: This is how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to do when they were three people.'
