English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Yunus, from Shayban, from Mansur ibn al-Mu'tamir, from Ibrahim, from 'Abida al-Salmani — that he said: 'A rabbi [habr] came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: "O Muhammad — or: O Messenger of Allah — on the Day of Resurrection, Allah (عز وجل) will hold the heavens on one finger, the earths on one finger, the mountains on one finger, the trees on one finger, the water and soil on one finger, and the rest of creation on one finger — and He will shake them, saying: 'I am the King.'" the Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed until his back teeth showed, affirming the words of the rabbi. He then recited: "And they did not esteem Allah with His true estimation — the whole earth will be in His grip on the Day of Resurrection..." [39:67] to the end of the verse.' — [Second chain] Aswad narrated to us, from Isra'il, from Mansur — and he mentioned it with the same isnad and meaning, and said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed until his back molar [najidhahu] was visible, affirming his words.'
