English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) — via Ziyad ibn 'Abdillah al-Bakka'i, from Mansur, from Salim, from his father — that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Every person has a companion [qareen] from the jinn assigned to him.' They said: 'And you, O Messenger of Allah?' He said: 'And me — except that Allah helped me against mine, so he submitted to Islam [aslama]. He now commands me only to good.'
