English Translation

It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud (رضي الله عنه) — via Muhammad ibn Ja'far, from Shu'ba, from Sulayman (al-A'mash), from 'Abdullah ibn Murra, from Masruq — from the Prophet ﷺ — that he said: 'The blood of a Muslim man is not lawful except for one of three [reasons]: life for life, the previously married adulterer, and the one who abandons his religion, breaking away from the community.'
