English Translation
It was narrated from 'Abdullah (رضي الله عنه) — via Muhammad ibn Ja'far, from Shu'ba, from al-Hakam, from Ibrahim, from 'Alqama — from the Prophet ﷺ — that he prayed Dhuhr five [rak'as]. He was asked: 'Has something been added to the prayer?' the Prophet ﷺ said: 'What do you mean?' They said: 'You prayed five.' He then prostrated twice after having already given the taslim. Shu'ba said: 'I heard both Sulayman and Hammad narrate that Ibrahim was uncertain whether [the Prophet ﷺ] had prayed three or five.'
