English Translation

Isma'il narrated to us, Ayyub narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr who said: I said to Ibn 'Umar: A man has accused his wife (of adultery, i.e., li'an). He said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ separated the two from Banu 'Ajlan (referring to the couple who went through li'an). He said: Allah knows that one of you two is a liar, so will one of you repent? He said this three times, but they refused. So he separated them.'
