حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ فَرَضَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَدَقَةَ رَمَضَانَ عَلَى الذَّكَرِ وَالْأُنْثَى وَ

الْحُرِّ وَالْمَمْلُوكِ صَاعَ تَمْرٍ أَوْ صَاعَ شَعِيرٍ قَالَ فَعَدَلَ النَّاسُ بِهِ بَعْدُ نِصْفَ صَاعِ بُرٍّ قَالَ أَيُّوبُ وَقَالَ نَافِعٌ كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يُعْطِي التَّمْرَ إِلَّا عَامًا وَاحِدًا أَعْوَزَ التَّمْرُ فَأَعْطَى الشَّعِيرَ

English Translation

Isma'il narrated to us, Ayyub informed us, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar who said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prescribed the zakat al-fitr of Ramadan upon male and female, free and slave: one sa' (measure) of dates or one sa' of barley.' Ibn 'Umar said: 'Then the people began to give half a sa' of wheat as equivalent.'
