Isma'il narrated to us, Ayyub informed us, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar who said: 'the Messenger of Allah ﷺ organized horse races. He released the trained horses from al-Hafya' to Thaniyyat al-Wada' — a distance of about six or seven miles. And he released the untrained horses from Thaniyyat al-Wada' to the mosque of Banu Zurayq — a distance of about one mile.' Ibn 'Umar was among those who raced them.
