حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَن

ْ سَالِمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَا حَسَدَ إِلَّا فِي اثْنَتَيْنِ رَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ الْقُرْآنَ فَهُوَ يَقُومُ بِهِ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ وَرَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ مَالًا فَهُوَ يُنْفِقُهُ فِي الْحَقِّ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ

English Translation

Sufyan narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Salim, from his father who said: the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'There is no envy except in two cases: a man whom Allah has given the Quran and he stands reciting it during the hours of the night and the hours of the day, and a man whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it during the hours of the night and the hours of the day (in the cause of Allah).'
